I will be the first to admit that I don’t do muslins that often, so today I had a design idea that I thought I should do a muslin first and low and behold, I have never brought any plain old cheap knit for muslins!! I tried to search my stash for something but couldn’t find anything that i could use, that i wouldn’t be mad if it turned out crazy!
so i went for a small scrap instead to cut the upper bodice, well I like that so then i reached for the bolt!
now I am wishing that i had use some properly matching thread inside! I just used what was on the machine, RED and WHITE!!
but I truly love how this turned out. I drafted this pattern in PMCL. I did have to go into PE to rotate a few darts to the waist which I changed to gathers. I also think before I make my final pattern i want to go in and raise the bodice and flare out the bottom a bit more to drape into a flowing dress!
this is one of those pattern designs that would look far me attractive in a less complex fabric! it looses all it’s detail with this print!
I copied this design from a shirt I have on today which is I’m sure from Forever 21 which is one of my favorites for tees!
I am off now to tweak my pattern and will probably make up my dress tomorrow or sometime soon!
that’s the problem with muslins, once you make the muslin, you just don’t have time or that same enthusiastic interest that you had before!

Red and white thread is fine – this top is AMAZING. It is absolutely stunning.
